Action for Blind People

The Local Action Team for Birmingham also covers Solihull. The Core Library in Solihull town centre has a Visual Impairment Resource Centre which can help you with aids and advice.

Books on Prescription

Books on Prescription has been designed to ensure library visitors can borrow self-help books that provide advice and tips to help manage their health and well-being. Books cover common conditions such as anxiety, depression, phobias, low self-esteem, insomnia, panic and agoraphobia, obsessive compulsive disorder and eating disorders. You can also borrow books on dementia as part of this scheme.

You can also use the NHS Direct symptom checker to get information to help you decide if medical attention is required. In the Health Services near you section, you can easily search for local GPs, hospitals, dentists and other services, using place name or postcode.
